OER at UTRGV

University Library’s Textbook Affordability Project

UTRGV’s Textbook Affordability Project exemplifies the institution’s commitment to delivering a high-quality, affordable, and accessible education that makes a lasting impact in the Rio Grande Valley and beyond. This initiative supports student success by providing course materials that are academically rigorous yet affordable.

As a leader in affordable textbook initiatives, UTRGV collaborates with national organizations, including the Open Education Network, SPARC, and the Driving OER Sustainability for Student Success (DOERS3) Collaborative. Our efforts are also highlighted in the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s OER in Texas Statewide Playbook, and we regularly engage with the UT System’s Momentum for OER (MOER) group to further our initiatives.

Through this project and related efforts, UTRGV is setting a national standard for accessible education that empowers students to thrive academically and professionally. To learn more about the faculty support offered by the Textbook Affordability Project visit the website at www.utrgv.edu/tap which is administered by the UTRGV Library.
